Picture Tag from Jessica

1. Go to your "My Pictures" File
2. Go to the 6th Folder
3. Select the 6th Picture
4. Blog About It
5. Tag 6 People

I don't have six people to tag!

So how about I just tag Camilla and Suzanne
(They would have great pictures)!

I cheated! I picked the 6th file from the bottom and the 6th picture in that file. The first one was of my tree with toilet paper on it ... not only boring but I had already blogged it!! Anyway .... this a picture of family all set to hike up to Timpanogos Cave but when we got there, the tickets were already sold out for the morning hikes and we would have had to wait around a couple of hours and then hike straight up the mountain during the hottest part of the day. It was a BUMMER in the SUMMER!

Resisting Temptation

I am doing EVERYTHING humanly possible to keep from going into the kitchen, getting the scissors and whacking off my hair!!! EVERY LIVING INCH OF IT!!! I could honestly start of new fad of "Classy Crew Cuts for Women." It's been 10 weeks since I have had a haircut! For someone that is used to going every 4 weeks -- this is HUGE! I have an appointment to go in on March 2nd for a trim and "regrouping" consultation so everyday I just keep enduring. I'm ok with everything but the flat top ... that's why I'm thinking of the flat top crew cut like Grandpa Raymonds! Anyway, I will get though this major hard part but not with out anguish and frustration. Most things worth doing are almost always HARD! I just hate having a different "style" every morning. Sometimes by mid-day it looks different too! I want to print a sign for around my neck that says, "Yes, I AM growing my hair out." Oh well, this too shall pass .....

Love the Technology but HATE the Cords!

I was doing a little cleaning and organizing over the weekend and remembered that I hate cords! For someone who has to have everything "just so" -- they don't obey!! I guess I should stop and say a prayer of gratitude for the invention of electricity and what a difference it makes in our lives ... I'm sure the pioneer women would love to have cords hanging from every gadget I have to make my life easier! Can't wait until EVERYTHING is cordless!

Annual Sweetheart Ball

My friend Robin and I decided (since our husbands were out of town) that we would go together to the "Sweetheart" ball so we could at least see the fabulous decorations. It looked so beautiful. Paper mache statues, a pond with fish in it, silk panels with hand-painted bamboo to cover the walls. There are so many amazing people in our church and this year's ball was no exception to their creativity.
They transformed the "gym" into an Asian wonderland.
Would have been fun to go with Kraig -- maybe next year!

Not Feeling Very Wise!!

Kelsey went in this morning to have all 4 of her wisdom teeth extracted and with a teary face she was really thinking that it was not such a "wise" idea!!!
She is SUCH a chicken and had really gotten herself all worked up by the time this picture was taken in the lobby while we were waiting to go in.

The doctor had to give her "laughing gas" to calm her pulse and blood pressure down a bit before they put the IV in to knocked her out. I worry about how she is EVER going to survive the real world.

She was soon off to la-la land and doesn't remember a thing. Now we have been recovering today at home with ice packs, good drugs, ice cream and pudding! She's doing really well

Death by Chocolate

Our Recipe Club meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month and last night we did all recipes with Chocolate because of Valentine's Day .... WOW ... some incredible stuff! However, we decided we would never do another strictly dessert night. We all felt like we could throw-up when we left -- but what a way to go!

Chocolate Gnosh with Raspberry Sauce
Chocolate Marshmallow Mousse
Candy Bar Cake
Chocolate Rice Crispy Treat with Mint Ice Cream Topping
Chocolate Raspberry Pie
S'More Nachos
S'More Cake
English Toffee

Last month our husbands were invited and we all brought international dishes. Most of the group had served foreign missions for our church or their husbands had and we sampled the most amazing dishes from around the world. Too bad that I forgot the camera!

The Process of a Growing Out a New "Do"

Sooooo ... I'll be turning the big "5-0" this summer and it has really been messin' with my head! The thoughts of "how is it possible that I'm going to be 50" type-stuff. All the things that I've been going to do ... and the thought of "what the heck have I been doing for the past 50 years"????? I've gotten a grip on most of the totally insane thoughts but I decided that this is the year!! NOOOO ... I'm not going out and buying new boobs and a Harley -- but just a couple of new goals.

I've been going to be at "my goal weight" by my birthday (June 30th) for about 15 summers now. Well this is the summer! I've got 24 lbs to go and I am well on my way to being a fit and sassy momma (even if I am approaching middle age!) As part of the transformation, I've decided to grow my hair out into a different style too! Two pretty hefty goals. I met with my hair stylist this week and we talked about "the process." I have her number to call ... 24-7 if the scissors should ever find their way to my hand! I'm excited!

Here is my hair now (as you can see, I have quite a ways to go)

Below are some pictures of the basic style that will be in the works by June 30th.

I have to do "nothing" to my hair for another 4 weeks and then I go in for a trim and highlights.
I will definately keep you "posted" as the transformation progresses.
