We're Outta Here!

We are headed out at 6:00 am tomorrow morning for Kamas, Utah!!! The kids have next week off for Spring break. Just LOVE that 8-9 hour drive through Wyoming! Maybe a tree grew or something exciting since the last time we drove through but I won't hold my breath. Will be fun to see my in-laws and, of course, Jessica and Nate! Hopefully we'll have lots pictures of us doing fun stuff to blog when we get back!

ADIOS AMIGOS

My New Song

Kelsey hooked me up to this song because she thought I would like it and now it is one of my favorites!! They best part are the lyrics that say "Yo mamma she get's krazy"! Great song to crank up in the car, especially when I have all the teens in there. They think I AM KRAZY!!!
(Could do without the girls in bikinis parading around!)

Blessings from Heaven ... I mean Holland

My neighbor came knocking on my door this afternoon and asked if I wanted any Tulip bulbs. You usually plant those in the fall, but you CAN plant them in the Spring and if they don't bloom this year ... they will next. A relative of Linda's owns a nursery and couldn't sell them. She has literally thousands of them. I took a box full and she gave me another 3 boxes to give away at church. The kids and I are driving to Utah for Spring break on Saturday so somehow between now and then I hope the magic Tulip Fairy will plant about 100 or so in my back yard!

Feeding the Flock

PREPARING FOR WOMEN'S CONFERENCE LUNCHEON

I was asked to "chair" the food committee for a huge Women's Conference Luncheon that was held at our church last Saturday. Over the last few months, there have been numerous meetings to figure out who had time to work me -- selecting a menu -- taste testing some ideas -- and then seeing if we could stay within our $800.00 budget (to feed 350+). Above are some pictures of my ever-faithful helpers as we "prep" the day before the event.

The Menu
Turkey Wraps with Seasoned Cream Cheese Spread
Roasted Vegetable Pasta Salad
Fruit Garnish (Orange Slices, Fanned Strawberry, Grapes)
Lemon Cheese Bars with Raspberry Drizzle

The morning of the event was CRAZY fun times -- we came up with "wrap" names and "wrap songs" and thought we would go crazy before we got all 350 done!! We got the grapes, oranges and 17 cake mixes donated and were able to pull it off for $1.90 per person -- $100.00 under budget! The only problem with it being such a huge success is they will probably be asked if we can do it again next year!

Our husbands volunteered to be our servers! One particular server was VERY cute!!
Some pictures of the place all decorated. They even burned a CD of wonderful peaceful instrumentals for everyone and had it at your place. Cute ... cute!

My "Other" Daughters!

I am an Advisor to the girls in our Young Women's Program at our church. I see these beautiful girls almost as much as I see my own kids. I love them and love being part of this wonderful organization. There can be a bit of drama (hello ... their teenagers) but the blessings of being a part of their lives outweigh those times when they are stinkers!

Here are some pictures above of our "New Beginnings" Program.
We sang a beautiful song about being a "light unto the world" -- hence, the Light House.
We have about 25 girls total but they weren't all there that night.

Below are pictures of our Camp Fundraiser -- Parent's Morning Out.
We charged a flat rate for families and took care of their children
at the church from 9:00 to noon on Saturday.
Didn't get as many as expected but still made about $140.00.
We're going to do another one on a Friday night.
