Master Bath Rennovation - Part I

I painted our master bedroom and bought new furniture late last year but never got around to redoing our bathroom ... well decided it was time!!

Here are some "before" and "during" pictures but will have to post "after" pictures when the wallpaper comes and I put it up.  I got the old border all stripped and the walls, chair-rails, and baseboards painted and even hung a new light fixture but am just waiting for the new wallpaper so I can finish.  The next purchase will be new shades for the bedroom and bathroom!

So Rennovation - Part II will be coming!!

Tearing down the border and repainting the wall the same color as the bedroom (tan) then papering over the current paper (below the chair rail) with a pretty teal-colored textured paper to match the highlight colors in the bedroom.

The wallpaper was done professionally so you can barely get a razor blade under it!
Took scoring, sraying with remover AND steaming to scrape any of it off!

STAY TUNED FOR THE END RESULT!

March Recipe Club

Forgot to bring the camera and get pictures of every one and their special dishes this time!     BLAST!!

I took a few pictures of what I brought and then left the camera on the counter!

The theme was "Not Your Normal-Type Ethnic Foods" (like spaghetti, tacos, etc.) and we had such a WONDERFUL array of all sorts of delicious items!

I got a super easy recipe from Jessica to make Thai Green Curry served over Jasmine Rice.  You just get a can of Green Curry Paste and add tablespoons of it "to taste" to a can or two of coconut milk.  I added bamboo shoots and served it on a bed of rice.

Yummmmmmm ..... Thai fast food!
(Looked greener and tastier in real life -- everyone loved it)

Jessica also shared a link about these little appetizers.
Grapes wrapped in Goat Cheese and rolled in walnuts ...

... thought they sounded "ethnic" and decided to try them out too!
They were so easy, tangy and scrumptious!

While searching World Market for Curry Paste, I came across these little
imported treats and somehow they jumped into my basket!

Definitely some tasty little morsels!

We had all sorts of other fabulous dishes from all around the world ....
sorry that I didn't get any pictures of them!

Next month is "High Tea" complete with all the scones, sandwiches and treats
that go along with that.  We are all buying/making
"fascinators and hats" to wear that evening!
FUN ... FUN ... FUN!
(I won't forget the camera!)

Church "Youth Road Shows"

Every 4 years the youth of our "Stake" put on little plays or "Road Shows" based on a theme picked by the Youth Council of which Jacob is a part.  Each Ward (or congregation --  there are 10 in all) make up a play based on that theme.

Our ward drew out of a hat, the 70's time period to portray their theme which was "standing for what you believe in."  They did a skit involving all the "TV shows" of the 70's with a gospel twist -- quite funny!!!

The created a giant TV screen where each TV show would perform.  Jacob was part of the "Love Boat Crew".

There was a scene from "CHiPs", complete with the Village People in the front.

The lighting was so bad and so were my photography skills!

A spoof from "The Donny and Marie" Show

As well as "The Brady Bunch"

Our ward won the award for "best use of their time period" for the theme!!

A "Shakespeare" era production.

The Flintstones

Text-a-little tweet-a-little, like Bye Bye Birdie

50's and Poodle Skirts

Really cute penguins!

A "We are the World" finale complete with Michael Jackson,
 Cindy Lauper and Madonna!

It was a fun night ... all the shows so good with a tremendous amount of work
and practice put into each one of them!

Great show Castle Rock Stake Youth!!!

Last Basketball Banquet for Jacob

They held the Castle View Sabercat Basketball Banquet last Tuesday and Jacob was there with the whole team.  He played every game on the JV team again this year (his junior year) but played on the Varsity Team, as well.

The have a BBQ place bring in food and it was really TASTY!
What teen doesn't LOVE trays of BBQ'd meat??

Jacob was recognized on the JV team but didn't win any outstanding awards, this year.  He liked and worked well with the JV coach but struggled with the Varsity coach (as most of the players did) and didn't get much playing time.  The teams played well but had a disappointing year because of poor coaching.  Because of that, Jacob has decided not to play his senior year.  Very sad!

He played really well all the years that he played ... just too bad it had a disappointing ending!
