An Incredible Little Book

I have not read a book that has had such effect on me in such a long time. I started it the other night (a short read) and decided to finish up the last chapter at lunch this afternoon. WOW! I want to find someone else who has experienced it so that I can talk to them -- like when something has happened and you need to talk it over with someone.

It's the story of a friendship between two 9 year old boys and their innocence as to what is going on around them during the Holocaust. A remarkable story that leaves you wondering how on earth anything like that could have ever happened. My heart hurts right now for all of the innocent, as well as, guilty people involved in that horrible chapter in history. The movie is out in the theaters right now also. I would read the book first, though it's so simple that I'm sure the movie will be good.

What an incredible thought-provoking read. I think its good to not let us forget.

Oh, a light read! Jeez. Like me last weekend reading Revolutionary Road! Tragically depressing but thought provoking and honest. Can't wait to see the movie!

Sorry we can't discuss--it is on my list of must reads! Don't you love it when a book really touches your soul and leaves you pondering about this crazy life?
