I am an Advisor to the girls in our Young Women's Program at our church. I see these beautiful girls almost as much as I see my own kids. I love them and love being part of this wonderful organization. There can be a bit of drama (hello ... their teenagers) but the blessings of being a part of their lives outweigh those times when they are stinkers!
Here are some pictures above of our "New Beginnings" Program.
We sang a beautiful song about being a "light unto the world" -- hence, the Light House.
We have about 25 girls total but they weren't all there that night.
Below are pictures of our Camp Fundraiser -- Parent's Morning Out.
We charged a flat rate for families and took care of their children
at the church from 9:00 to noon on Saturday.
Didn't get as many as expected but still made about $140.00.
We're going to do another one on a Friday night.

Wow, the lighthouse turned out awesome! I wish we had that many girls. Although that would mean that the drama level would be increased so I guess I'm good with the four we have. : )
Did you MAKE that lighthouse??!! I'm impressed! We are trying to come up with a fundraiser for the YMCA that is similar to yours...babysit the kids while the parents play...but we need to make a lot more than $140!
ok, we need that fundraiser in our ward. we have a batch of girls that don't like babysitting though so i won't hold my breath. i love that you are still in young women's.
