First Stitches Ever!

Well, I was cleaning out our storage room ... getting all the Christmas stuff put back in there.  I had spent most of the day sorting through TONS on stuff that I hadn't even looked at since we moved in.  Mostly stuff that I had saved from when the kids were little.

I had just finished cleaning up and asked Kraig to help me lift a couple of bins to put back on the metal shelving we have down there.  One box was particularly heavy and as I shoved into place, the top of the metal shelf put a nice little gash in my hand.

We were having some people over to watch the Superbowl, so I told Kraig to keep cleaning and I drove myself up to our new Hospital Emergency Room here in the Meadows.  It just wouldn't stop bleeding and when I got there they said that because of where it was on my hand, it would have had a hard time staying closed.  So .... 3 little stitches.  Not bad to have your first stitches at 52 year old!

I found this while I was cleaning, among MANY other things.

It was the first doll that Rick and I gave Jessica on her 1st Birthday!  I gave her a good scrubbing and she looks good as new.  Just have to get her some new clothes.  Jacob says that she is kind of creepy but I think she is cute!  Going to give her to Mabel when she comes!

Also found this priceless little gem!

It is the cutest book that Jacob wrote in 3rd or 4th grade.  If you notice, it's titled "Jacob's Meoirs" not Memoirs!  So cute!  The last page is priceless and the stories inside are equally as great!  So glad I kept it!

That close up of your hand made me feel queasy! Glad it healed so fast.
I think Mabel needs that baby for her 1st birthday and I will dig out the pictures of me with it on my 1st and we can do a twin pic!

I could read those "meoirs" all day. Nate and I laughed really hard. I especially love the note about the author in the back.
